Who we are
SS Visualist is a trading name of [Your full legal name], a sole trader based in London, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: [privacy email], [postal address].
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if you add them, your venue name and logo.
- Photos you upload: dish photos and photos of your venue's interior, and the images we create from them. Please don't upload photos where people can be recognised.
- Payment details: handled by Stripe. We see your name, email, billing address, plan and payment status — never your full card number.
- Technical data: IP address and basic server logs, kept for security and to fix problems.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To provide the service you pay for: create your account, process your photos, take payment, sign you in. Basis: contract.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse. Basis: legitimate interests.
- To keep accounting and tax records. Basis: legal obligation.
- To send emails about your account, such as sign-in links and receipts. We don't send marketing emails unless you ask for them.
Who processes data for us
- Google (Gemini API) — analyses your venue photos and creates new angles of your dish photos. We use the paid API, under which Google does not use your content to improve its products.
- Stripe — payments and invoices.
- [Email provider, e.g. Resend] — sign-in emails.
- [Hosting provider] — runs the app and stores your files.
- Google Fonts — serves the typeface on our pages, which shares your IP address with Google.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. Where they do, transfers are covered by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Photos: until you delete them, or 30 days after you close your account.
- Account details: while your account is open, then 30 days.
- Payment and invoice records: as long as UK tax law requires (at least five years after the relevant tax return deadline).
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
Cookies
We use one cookie, ssv_session, to keep you signed in. It is strictly necessary, so we don't ask for consent. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within one month. You can delete any dish at any time inside the app.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect.
